The Wright Family

1. Robert¹ WRIGHT was born in Orange County, VA about 1736. Robert died June 4, 1831 in Greene Co., GA, at 94 years of age. Will

He married Mary Perrin FITZPATRICK in Green County, GA, about 1770.  Mary was born in Fluvanna Co., VA about 1752. Mary was the daughter of Joseph FITZPATRICK and Mary Perrin WOODSON. Mary died November 26, 1826 in Greene Co., GA, at 74 years of age. 

Robert WRIGHT and Mary Perrin FITZPATRICK had the following children:

5 iv. Elizabeth WRIGHT married Wyatt WHATLEY in Greene Co., GA, January 11, 1800. 

6 v. Margaret WRIGHT. She married John H. BROUGHTON.

8 vii. Patrick Woodson WRIGHT 

+ 9 viii. Michael WRIGHT was born October 6, 1773.

10 ix. Robert WRIGHT was born April 24, 1785. Robert died September 18, 1864 at 79 years of age. He married Margaret BLEDSOE in Greene Co., GA, May 31, 1808. 

9.Michael² WRIGHT (Robert¹) was born in Virginia October 6, 1773. Michael died December 10, 1854 in Panola Co., MS, at 81 years of age.

He married Miriam CLAY in Oglethorpe Co., GA, December 9, 1794.   

Michael WRIGHT and Miriam CLAY had the following children:

11 i. Michael³ WRIGHT He married Elizabeth.

13 iii. Thomas H. WRIGHT was born in Oglethorpe Co., GA about 1800. He married Mary MILLER in Perry Co., Ala., January 3, 1831. 

14 iv. Mary WRIGHT was born January 29, 1801. She married James Butler WATTERS. 

15 v. Robert W. WRIGHT was born in Greene Co., GA about 1804. Robert died November 11, 1870 in Caldwell Co., TX, at 66 years of age. He married Matilda WATTERS. 

16 vi. Oliver C. WRIGHT was born in Alabama about 1806. He married Arzilla TUBBS.

17 vii. Elizabeth Ann WRIGHT was born in Georgia March 15, 1808. Elizabeth died March 20, 1886 in Gonzales Co., TX, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred in Gonzales Co., TX, Andrews Chapel. She married Alexander MCGINTY in Perry Co., Alabama, September 15, 1823. See McGinty Family.  for continuation of my husbands family line.

18 viii. Jesse Clay WRIGHT was born in Georgia about 1809. He married Nancy WATTERS in Perry Co., Ala, April 11, 1829.

19 ix. Littleberry WRIGHT was born in Georgia about 1811. He married Salinda D, WELLS in Perry Co., Ala, March 11, 1831.

20 x. Eliza B. WRIGHT was born in Georgia about 1812. Eliza died about 1867 in Caldwell Co., TX. She married Joseph S. WELLS in Perry Co., Ala, September 14, 1831. 

21 xi. Joseph J. WRIGHT was born in Georgia about 1815. Joseph died September 14, 1862 in Denmark, Tenn, at 47 years of age. He married Adaline ELDER. 

12. James Butler³ WRIGHT (Michael², Robert¹) was born in Oglethorpe Co., GA October 17, 1795. James died February 28, 1859 in Panola Co., MS, at 63 years of age. His body was interred in Panola Co., MS, Wright Family Cemetery.

He married Lucy WATTERS in Oglethorpe Co., GA, August 25, 1815. Lucy was born in Oglethorpe Co., GA October 25, 1797. Lucy was the daughter of James Joseph WATTERS and Sarah COLLINS. Lucy died September 9, 1878 in Gonzales Co., TX, at 80 years of age. 

James Butler WRIGHT and Lucy WATTERS had the following children:

22 i. Sarah Watters⁴ WRIGHT  was born in Georgia about 1816. Sarah died about 1880. She married Walker T. Brock WELLS in Perry Co., Ala, November 24, 1834.

23 ii. William Woodson WRIGHT was born in Alabama January 6, 1818. William died June 22, 1897 at 79 years of age. He married three times. He married 1st Sarah C. WATTERS.  He married 2nd Glaskey HUNTER. He married 3rd Ann WERNER. 

24 iii. Leroy Clay WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala October 20, 1820. Leroy died May 7, 1905 in Gonzales Co., TX, at 84 years of age. He married Margaret M. RAYBURN in Panola Co., MS, June 20, 1844.

25 iv. Michael T. B. WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala January 18,1827. Michael died June 30, 1923 in Batesville, Panola Co., MS, at 96 years of age. His body was interred in Panola Co., MS, Batesville Cemetery. He married Lucy Ann RAYBURN. 

26 v. Martha WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala July 12, 1828. Martha died August 2, 1913 in Harper, TX, at 85 years of age. She married Lazurus D. COOK.

27 vi. Adeline Elvira WRIGHT  was born in Perry Co., Ala December 19, 1829. Adeline died April 11, 1921 in Gonzales Co., TX, at 91 years of age. She married Robertus R. HINTON in Perry Co., Ala, August 17, 1848. 

28 vii. James Butler Watters WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala .January 29, 1832. James died January 21, 1919 in Gonzales Co., TX, at 86 years of age. He married Sally CULBERSON. 

29 viii. Henry Clay WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala about 1834. Henry died about 1921 in Dilley, TX. He married Melissa Ann Frances MILLS in Gonzales Co., TX, July 17, 1860. 

30 ix. Lucy Ann WRIGHT was born in Perry Co., Ala April 20, 1835. Lucy died June 14, 1925 in Kerrville, Kerr Co., TX, at 90 years of age. She married William Caswell PETERSON. 

31 x. George Washington WRIGHT  was born in Gonzales Co., TX about 1859. He married Margaret LONG.
